Work in progress #2: A mystery that’s not Homeless

Right now, I’m working on a mystery novel that has nothing to do with the Homeless series. Don’t worry, I’m not neglecting book number five. Its time will come. 😉

I have to admit that starting a new mystery novel is not an easy task. I have the same feeling that I had when I started working on The Spider’s Web. I’ve got an idea, but I need characters able to grow, to tell their own stories. Once they’ve reached their potential, they are capable to help the plot move on, giving depth to the story. It became a relatively easy task for each new novel in the Homeless series, for the characters in there have developed from one book to the next. After the first one or two books, I already knew how they would react in a given situation, or where they can help the plot.

In this new book I’m just beginning to discover them. Some of them have to change from my initial plans, others seem to fit perfectly in their spot. Sometimes, I realize that a character has to be droped, or another one brought in. It’s not an easy task.

Ițm not going to reveal much about the plot at this point. I’ll only say that it takes place in Romania. The story has just began, I’ll keep you informed as it takes off. 😉

Oh! The novel already has a title: Let the Dead Men Talk.

There are other projects I’m working on. I’ll tell you next week about the third one.
